How many Indian states have Elephant as the state animal?

Indian elephant is the largest land animal found in India. It is a subspecies of the Asian elephant.

Elephant is the state animal of three Indian states.

1. Karnataka

Karnataka is also the state with the highest population of elephants in India.

There are around 6,400 elephants in Karnataka.

The southern Indian state is home to 2,000-3,000 elephants. 

Unfortunately, the population of elephants in Kerala has declined sharply in the last five years.

There are 500-1,000 elephants estimated in Jharkhand.
