The Alps is a major mountain range of the world that lies in Europe. The Alps mountain range runs for about 1,200 kilometers through Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia, and Germany. Mont Blanc has a height of 4,805.59 m (15,766.4 ft) and is located on the Italy-France border. Mont Blanc is part of the Mont Blanc massif which has many 4,000 meters high peaks. The peak is famous among mountaineers and is climbed on a regular basis.

2. Monte Rosa

Monte Rosa is a mountain massif on the Switzerland-Italy border. The highest peak of the massif is Dufourspitze which has an elevation of 4,634 m (15,203 ft). There are few other named peaks in the massif with an elevation greater than 4,500 meters.

Dom is the third highest mountain peak in the Alps. Part of the Pennine Alps, Dom has an elevation of 4,545 m (14911.42 ft) and is located in Valais, Switzerland. Dom is the highest mountain lying entirely in Switzerland. It is part of the Mischabel massif.

Another high mountain in the Pennine Alps, Lyskamm has an elevation of 4,533 m (14,872 ft). Lyskamm, also known as Silberbast lies on the Switzerland-Italy border 3 kilometers southwest of Dufourspitze.

One of the most famous mountains in Switzerland, Weisshorn is located 11 kilometers west of Dom in Valais, Switzerland. Weisshorn has an elevation of 4,506 m (14,783 ft).
