Mahe district- the smallest district in India
Mahe is one of the four districts of Puducherry union territory. It is the only district of Puducherry on the West coast, the rest 3 are on the east coast facing the Bay of Bengal. Mahe district has an area of 9 sq km and a population of 41,934 as per the 2011 census. The district has a very high literacy of 98.35%. The sex ratio in the district is 1184 per 1000 males.
